When this vile creature has the audacity to accuse Labor of lying, of hypocrisy, of treating the Australian people with disrespect, and went on to claim that Labor was responsible for Robodebt, any credible journalists should have burst out laughing. They should have kept laughing until this fraud of a PM realised that he is the Emperor with no clothes, and exited the room like the gutless wonder he has always been.
Too true and too depressing...like yelling into a void...I'm not sure how all these so called journalists will be able to live with themselves if this government is reelected and the fires and floods and homelessness and general struggle to survive, let along thrive, worsen. How did it come to this?
We dont have "Press" in Oz, just propaganda. Bring on the Murdoch RC, then we may see these snivelling cowards charged with sedition and foreign interference!
The heading Bogan Intelligentsia is most appropriate. If the polically uneducated and Bogans do buy a newspaper in Sydney it is The Daily Telegraph. It and Radio 2GB tell that lot how to think and they will vote accordingly. Recently I spoke to two different people about media bias and they admitted to me that they weren't aware the Telegraph and 2GB were biased. One buys the paper every day but was not aware Murdoch owned it or worse still was not aware he is now a US citizen and he likes to determine who the government of Australia is to be. Just sickening.

I feel like we've entered the political Twilight Zone where the ridiculous outweighs the sublime, and the nodding clown heads bob ever and ever faster, and fail the public at every lost opportunity. Our only hope is that the voting public can see through the charade and act accordingly.
Thank you Joel for your excellent article. The main stream press has no intention of engaging in objectivity. They are the problem. They have unequivocally failed their own charter and thus the community by becoming part of and engaging in a corrupted political system. So many of these so called Journalists have sold their soul to the devil for a few filthy dollars. Newscorp as usual lead the pack in the the race to the bottom. They have no journalistic standards or ethic as they have proved time and again. For me the main stream media is dead. The problem that I now face is where do I get objective information without descending down a conspiratorial rabbit hole or existing in an echo chamber.

I prefer to call them Ruperteers now.
